I consider this parcel to be the most beautiful part of the domaine. It is a 2.25ha plot planted between 1920-1945, located at the top of the hill about 30 meters from the windmill. This is where the pink granite rock outcrops and creates a unique texture unlike other parts of the hill. The positioning of La Roche allows it great wind from the north which creates incredible aeration and offers beautiful freshness to the wine.
89-92 points, Outstanding – Burghound - “Reduction dominates the fruit at present. On the plus side there is excellent freshness and verve to the rich and attractively textured medium-bodied flavors where the sense of refinement is enhanced by the relatively fine grain of the tannin shaping the mildly austere but better balanced finale. Worth considering.”
