This 100% Viognier comes from a 3 hectare vineyard that was planted 20 years ago in the incredible granitic soils of this southern exposure site. Once sorted in the vineyard and on the sorting table, the wine is directly pressed with fermentation in both barrel and foudres with native yeasts. This wine is incredibly aromatic and is very expressive in its youth, even more so than our Condrieu. The notes are tropical and floral with tremendous acidity that will develop further in the bottle for another 5 years after release.
92 points, Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media - “Shimmering straw color. Vibrant, mineral-accented aromas and flavors of white peach and melon, with orange pith and floral elements gaining strength in the glass. Shows very sharp focus and a touch of spiciness courtesy of a hint of ginger. The floral touch carries a long, taut finish that leaves a repeating orange note behind.”
