Sourced from two small parcels - Veauvignière in Malleval and La Combe in St-Pierre-de-Boeuf – vines were planted in the granite soils of these sites over 25 years ago to 100% Viognier. Grapes are harvested manually with a rigorous sorting process in the vineyard and on the sorting table in the winery. The grapes are directly pressed into large 350L French oak barrels and foudre for fermentation and then aging for 10 months on fine lees. This is a very ageworthy white wine with potential up to 10 years.
94 Points, Josh Raynolds, Vinous Media. Translucent straw-yellow. A penetrating bouquet evokes fresh citrus and orchard fruits that are complemented by suggestions of chalky minerals and pungent flowers. Juicy and sharply focused in the mouth, offering pear, Meyer lemon and honeysuckle flavors that show fine delineation and mineral. The floral notes carry emphatically through the energetic finish, lingering with serious tenacity.
