Our own history with the grape started in the early 2000s. We wanted to produce a white wine, and sought something that was part of our heritage. So we selected and planted Nascetta, and our initial bottling took place in 2009. Our vineyards are north facing, which ensures the right amount of acidity, minerality, and freshness, particularly important in the warm 2018 vintage. I named this wine 'Borea' after the God of the Northern Winds; having been was greatly inspired by the intense gusts that blow through this vineyard, it seemed to be a very appropriate homage.
Our Nascetta Borea is released two years after vintage after aging in a cement tank for one year. It is continually stirred on its lees for at least 18 months, developing refinement and freshness. That, mixed with its natural acidity, gives it excellent aging potential.
