The vineyard at Moulin Riche spans 20 hectares, planted on Garonne gravel and Aeolinan sands. The majority of the vineyard was planted over 40 years ago, giving incredible concentration to the clusters throughout the vineyard site. With each vintage, intense focus on quality occurs throughout the growing season, finalized by hand-harvesting and sorting the best grapes for this top wine of the château. Stainless steel vinification is then following by aging in 1-2 year old French oak barrels for 18-20 months before bottling and cellar resting.

Press Notes :

Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media, 89-91 points: " Dark red cherries, plums, cloves, menthol and crushed rocks emerge from the 2013 Moulin Riche. The flavors are vibrant on the palate, much of that coming from the support of the Petit Verdot, which flowered better than the other varieties and makes up 17% of the blend as opposed to the more typical 7% or so. Cassis, white flowers and a gentle hint of cinnamon linger on the finish. The 2013 is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot and 17% Petit Verdot. Moulin Riche could turn out to be a little jewel in this vintage.”
