Our flagship wine is a true Grand Cru of Maremma. The inspiration for this cuvée is the great Bordeaux wines of France, utilizing grape varieties from Bordeaux cuttings grown with the influence of the Tuscan coast. The 2017 vintage gave birth to a full and perfumed version of this wine, reminding us of a Mediterranean garden rocked by a full sea breeze.
2017 is a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Cabernet Franc, 15% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot, with individual lots harvested by hand and fermented separately. The fermentations occurred in stainless-steel tanks and neutral barrels before assemblage and aging in 80% new French oak barrels for 24 months before bottling without fining or filtration.
Press Notes :
97 points, James Suckling – “A dense, rich red with loads of blackberries, black licorice, sage and blueberries. Some slate, too. It’s full-bodied with rich yet polished and integrated tannins. Flavorful finish. Dried meat and bacon with some smokiness at the end. Bordeaux blend. Drink after 2024.”
