The stunning Cosentino cru is a 1.35-hectare vineyard also in Feudo di Mezzo on the northern slope of Mt. Etna.
Compared to the San Teodoro cru, this wine tends to showcase more structure, minerality. The Nerello Mascalese grapes are hand-harvested, and partially de-stemmed before being vinified. The wine ferments with indigenous yeasts with a long maceration before being aged for 15 months in French oak barrels before bottling. The texture of this wine is a complex, intense nose of ripe cherry, wild blackberry, and black pepper. The tannins are extremely well integrated, making it an elegant wine that is approachable yet with a great aging potential of at least 15 years.
