Starderi vineyard is a 6.5-hectare vineyard on the western side of Neive with a southern exposure. The vines are 45-50 years old and grow on calcareous soil at 250 meters above sea level. Although the soil composition, vine age, exposition are similar, Starderi exhibits power, structure, and persistence in place of the elegance of the wines from Gallina.
Press Notes:
“This is dense and tight with layers of berry, dried orange-peel, meat and chocolate character, yet ever so refined and complex. Full-bodied with firm tannins and a long, flavorful finish. Give it three or four years to come around. Try in 2024.” – 96 points, James Suckling
