When Michael first arrived at La Caccia, in addition to his enthusiasm over the great terroir and old vines that remained on the property, he noticed a small olive grove that lined the estate. Here, 138 trees were planted over 20 years prior with indigenous olive varieties. Traditionally, estates would plant olive trees just for their family’s own olive oil production and use, but here Michael saw the opportunity to share a piece of this historic estate to go alongside the wine. So he planted an additional 4.5 hectares of olive trees and created a stunning olive oil to match their Super Tuscan bottling.
