This philosophy of long-term thinking is embodied by the Long Now Clock, a massive mechanical device designed to keep time for 10,000 years. Funded by Jeff Bezos' Bezos Expeditions, the first full-scale clock is being constructed inside a remote mountain in Texas accessible only on foot. The idea is that people will contemplate nature and time on their pilgrimage to visit the clock, which will ring a unique chime each time a visitor winds it without ever repeating itself.
Press Notes:
"Pelissero's 2013 Long Now is rich, explosive and powerful, with all the pedigree of the Barbera coming through first. Nebbiolo tannins hit the mid-palate and finish, rounding things out nicely. Scents of black cherry jam, mocha, espresso and menthol add nuance throughout. The French oak needs time to settle down. Otherwise, this is a fine effort. The creamy, voluptuous finish is striking." – Antonio Galloni, 93 points
