Sourced from our oldest vines in the valley of Chavignol which grow on a fossilized ocean bed known as Kimmeridgian marl terroir (the same soil type as Chablis), Jadis is one of the most distinctive cuvées that we produce from Sauvignon here in Sancerre. The vineyards from which Jadis (meaning long ago) is sourced is also an incredible example of the organic viticulture that our team focuses on, as we use only organic methods and grass coverage to impart further nutrients in the soils and complete respect for the terroir of the vineyard. This vineyard is managed with incredibly low yields, adding further concentration to a wine that has aging potential up to 15 years after the vintage.

2017 started with a severe spring frost that significantly decreased yields. However, once our team sorted through the best possible vines and clusters in the vineyard, the resulting fruit was spectacular. This was a vintage of beautiful purity in the grapes, in which intense concentration balanced bright acidity to represent a very classic style of Sancerre. Fermentation occurred in both French oak barrels and stainless-steel tanks before oak barrel aging and eventual bottling in accordance with the lunar moon.

Press Notes :

93 points, Wine Enthusiast – “If you manage to pick up this crazily heavy bottle, the wine that will be poured from it is rich and concentrated. It has great intensity, with green fruits that are tautly textured with herbal and mineral characteristics. Packed with ripeness and youthful acidity, the wine will age and shouldn't be drunk before 2021.” – Roger Voss.
