The Cuvée Laurence is a final blend of the Cuvée Réservée, of which one sole foudre is set aside for longer aging in wood (four years total) before release. In 2014 rains came toward the end of the otherwise warm and dry growing season, bringing with them a bigger yield with bigger berries – the grapes, especially grenache, swelled with rain, diluting the wine and color, but also providing for a more elegant, fruity expression of our terroir. The year is similar to the 2006 and 2008 vintages, which were lighter vintages delivering wines that were very easy to drink. With its extended aging in wood, this wine provides an expression of the Cuvée Réservée that drinks beautifully upon release.
