Deep mineral soils mixed with limestone rocks. Les Murgers is located mid-slope adjacent to other 1ers Crus on the Vosne-Romanee side of Nuits St. Georges with about 1 hectare under our management. The vineyard soils are quite complex with deep layers of clay and stones. Drainage in the vineyard is quite good and adds to the balance of the clusters.
In 2013, after a 21-28 day fermentation, the wine was aged in French oak barrels, 50% new wood, for 15-18 months before bottling and cellaring.
Tasting Notes:Delicate aromas of red berries and an intense and full-bodied taste of berries on the palate. Rounded taste with present tannins- faithful to the style of the “terroir”. This wine is an excellent companion for roasted chicken, duck, quiches, and a variety of cheeses such as gouda, gruyere, and light cheddar.
