Les Plantes is a tucked away vineyard site, located just beneath the quiet village of Chambolle. Our parcel here is 0.23 hectares and is one of our best premier cru sites for ageability and long development. The vineyard is planted in rocky and stony soils with good drainage, and a fair amount of mineral dominated clay soils. Wines from this vineyard site tend to be floral and feminine with discrete tannins that represent a velvet and elegant style, luscious and palate caressing.
In 2011, after a 21-28 day fermentation, the wine was aged in French oak barrels, 50% new wood, for 15-18 months before bottling and cellaring.
92 Points, Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator
“Delivers adequate flesh, but this is a lean, taut and stony red. Cherry and berry notes are fused to the tense, chalky spine, stretching out on the long finish. Best from 2017 through 2027. 72 cases made, 25 cases imported.”
