Chȃteau Le Crock is the first estate our family acquired, back in 1903. We were drawn to its unique terroir, given its position between the vineyards of Cos d'Estournel and Montrose, both 2nd Grand Cru Classés. The wines are made under the same supervision as our Chȃteau Léoville Poyferré, as both benefit from the same in-house enologist, Isabelle Davin.
Rich and powerful, Château Le Crock 2018 is both textured and opulent, delivering red and black fruits aromas with a pleasant freshness evoking liquorice during the finale.
Grape varieties: 45% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot
James Suckling, 94 points: “A complex nose with aromas of blackberries, spices and chocolate. It’s full-bodied with wonderfully integrated tannins that show dark fruit and berries with some lavender and violet undertones. Such gorgeous texture to this. Really impressive for this estate. Try after 2024..”
