The wine comes from the beautiful 2006 vintage, a blend of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay from only Grand Cru vineyards. It is only released now at the perfect time to reflect our intention of style in the wine. As for each Cuvée of Maison Henriot, the tasting guides the release date of the new vintage. From its conception to the final tasting, Cuvée Hemera reveals both the passage of time and Nature’s guiding hand. The exceptional quality of the fruit promises expression of rare potential. Beyond the expression of a unique vintage, Cuvée Hemera spends at least 12 years ageing in the darkness of our cellars to reveal its stunning complexity as well as perfect balance.
This is a wine that offers an incredible bouquet of elegant aromas, featuring notes of white flowers with kisses of vanilla. The palate reveals flavors of candied apricot with hints of spice. As the freshness of the wine dominates, layers of minerality come through with great precision. Yet as the wine opens up, the characteristics of the Chardonnay from the Côtes des Blancs, the layers of pastry, spiced fruit with a more lengthy finish. Cuvée Hemera is a wine for multiple occasions of enjoyment – from celebrations to varied food pairings from lobster with chili cream to holiday meals with poultry and more.
97 points, Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast – “This mature wine is finely structured with a delicate mousse and forward toast and brioche flavors. At the same time, the texture and the white fruits are still there, creating a magnificent Champagne with texture and richness in a taut, tight package. Drink the wine now.”
