This spectacular vintage is one for aging. As you are enjoying the 2006 and 2007 vintages, place your 2017 bottles of Nemo Cabernet in your cellar and see how they develop over time. The 2017 vintage was very hot and dry, which created intense stress in the vineyard throughout the growing season. The Cabernet developed deep concentration and firm, rich tannins that added structure and complexity. Il Mulino’s orientation protects the vines from too much direct sun, which could damage the clusters in hot vintages like 2017, but yields great ripeness while still maintaining the freshness and acidity needed to balance this vintage out.
Press Notes :
94 points, Antonio Galloni – Vinous Media - “The 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon Nemo Vigna Il Mulino is a beautiful, expressive wine. Scorched earth, licorice, dried herbs, incense and tobacco bring out the savory side of Cabernet Sauvignon. Readers should expect a potent, tannic wine with a good deal of aromatic intensity and structure. As always, Il Mulino presents a distinctly Italian and Tuscan expression of Cabernet Sauvignon.”
