If 2007 was about freshness and aromatics, then 2006 is a vintage of power, body and concentration. This was a vintage that took a longer time to develop in the vineyard, with mild conditions throughout the spring until the fruit set and summer arrived. During the summer, there were huge extremes in temperature that saw intense heat during the day, further concentrating the fruit and causing more pronounced tannins. The evenings were in contrast quite cool, capturing the brightness in Cabernet. This led to a stunning balance between bold fruit and aromatics, with big tannins and acidity. As these characteristics have come together with further bottle aging, it is clear how spectacular this vintage was from harvest and has continued to show great success in cellaring and still potential for more development over the next few years.

Press Notes :

95 points, Antonio Galloni – Robert Parker Wine Advocate - "The 2006 Nemo Vigneto Il Mulino (Cabernet Sauvignon) is a more overt, fruit-driven wine than Il Poggio in this vintage. Sweet scents of French oak meld into blackberries, blueberries, licorice and grilled herbs. The fruit remains extremely primary, while the oak is a touch prominent, both of which suggest further cellaring is needed for all of the elements to come together. A rich, textured, creamy finish provides the final exclamation point to this superb, pedigreed Nemo. This distinctly Tuscan Cabernet seems to get better and better with each passing vintage. The 2006 is not to be missed. Anticipated maturity: 2016-2031."
