90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot & Petit Verdot
This wine is the realization of our founder Dr. Gian Annibale Rossi di Medelana, who believed from the moment he set foot on this estate that a beautiful, world-class wine could be produced here. His dream of producing a high-quality Super Tuscan first came to fruition with the 1993 vintage, and since then Lupicaia has grown into a wine sought out by collectors and wine professionals across the world.
Lupicaia is sourced from our estate vineyards that are rich in minerals with the presence of tiny stones and a variety of fossils. The two red lines on the label represent the soil in the vineyards, which gets its brownish-red colour from the iron in the soil that was mined by ancient Etruscans in this region.
We select the grapes for Lupicaia from the best vineyards on our estate, always creating the most intense, concentrated and ageable wine possible for each vintage.
