50% Syrah, 25% Petit Verdot, 25% complementary red grapes
Our estate wine Terriccio was launched in 2000 to mirror Lupicaia’s Super Tuscan expression and vision, but featuring Syrah as the wine’s dominant voice instead of Cabernet Sauvignon. Our Syrah is planted in very sandy soils with a strong presence of rough gravel. This allows the vines to search easier for water in the dry, nutrient-deficient soils of this area. The vines are arranged with the perfect inclination to the Mediterranean Sea, so that a unique reflection of the sun and the coastal breeze combine to create perfect ripening and freshness in the clusters.
The three roses on the label represent the rose bushes growing in front of each row of vines, which are used as early indicators of potential diseases which might attack the vineyards.
